But I should be honest. This is kind of a trick title. I’m not going to let you in on my best-kept secret – the one I only tell my clients after we’ve been working together for a long time. Then I have them sign an NDA. Then we spit on our hands and shake to seal the deal. Ok sorry I got carried away.
I’m also not going to tell you there is one food, one drink, one supplement, one mineral, one vitamin or one particular thing we should be consuming every single day for optimum health.
What I am going to tell you is going to be much less intense than that. But I promise it will make you feel so much better. This you can do. This you can live by.
The one thing I know to be true about nutrition is: it is not complicated.
We love to complicate things. Thinking if it’s a struggle or hard to follow or exclusive that it must be worth it.
Picture scrolling through social media. You come across a video of a person that fits your aesthetic ideal. This person is walking you through a day in the life, including their meals. The meals take a long time to prepare, they are full of niche and expensive ingredients, and the creator promises optimal health if you include all these things in your diet.
The problem is, it looks complicated. There are lots of ingredients that you don’t know where to find or what they do. You start feeling like good health is more and more unattainable.
Good nutrition is not complicated. When people make it complicated, they probably want to sell you something. Or are acting like a gatekeeper so you keep coming back for more.
Remember, there are no secrets. Good nutrition is accessible to everyone on some level, not just the elite. So next time you are scrolling through social media, have this in the back of your head. If it looks complicated, it’s bullshit.
