Be Careful of This Sneaky Thing in Intuitive Eating

If you have tried practicing giving yourself permission to eat certain “off limits” foods but are still feeling out of control, you might only be giving yourself pseudo permission instead of unconditional permission.

Have you ever said something like “I shouldn’t have done that.” Or “I let myself eat that but will have to make up for it later”? 🤐 

Do you see how just because you went ahead and ate the food, it didn’t really count as unconditional permission to eat?

This introduces guilt and prevents you from pursuing a healthy relationship with food. It’s a perpetuating cycle.

In order for you to give yourself full food access, it has to be unconditional. “I’m going to eat this food right now.” Full stop. You aren’t going to carry it with you later!

It’s a tiny technical difference but one that can make a huge impact on the success of your journey! 💜
