When it comes to improving your relationship with food, getting healthier, changing your habits and your mindset, becoming more confident in your food decisions, eliminating food stress and anxiety and finally becoming a calm and happy eater, there are three main things I want you to know.
1️⃣ You are allowed to eat foods you enjoy.
You are allowed to eat foods you enjoy: the number one way to feel content, avoid over eating, and stop craving everything is to eat foods you like. Stop looking to others to tell you what that is, because it’s based on your preferences and will be different for everyone. I know that sounds nuts and that you feel like you’ll never eat healthfully if given the chance to eat otherwise. Just trust me on this one.
2️⃣ You can’t be concerned with what others are doing.
You can’t be concerned with what others are doing. Similar to point number 1, stop making food decisions for yourself based on what others are doing. What they’re doing doesn’t matter to you. Too many cooks in the kitchen adds confusion and spoils the broth. You aren’t anyone else and no one else is you so how could anyone else know what’s best for you? Learn about yourself and do some soul searching!
3️⃣ You can do this.
You can do this. I know you are telling yourself the opposite so allow me to tell you the truth. You aren’t screwed, damaged, incapable or doomed. You can change. It’s absolutely possible, and you can do it. It’s scary sometimes to change and grow because we as humans love familiarity. Even when that familiarity is damaging. It takes courage to push past that and choose growth.
There are other things you probably need to know, but this is what you needed to hear today!
